Anniversary!

Pete and I actually celebrate three anniversaries throughout the year. November 8 is when we were legally married, August 1 is when we had a ceremony for our families and friends and December 6 is when we were sealed in the temple.

SO. . .that means that this past Sunday we celebrated one of our anniversaries. It was a lot of fun. First off we started with exchanging some gifts that we had gotten each other. Pete got me some perfume I had been wanting and a very pretty anklet. I got Pete some tools to fill up his new toolboxes that he just got.
I think that he was most excited about the smallest tool that he got:

After I got home from church we took a road trip down to Turkey Run and spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Nauvoo!!

A couple of weekends ago we went to Nauvoo, IL with Julia. We had a very enjoyable time. We stayed with our good friends the Ivies. They were very hospitable as always. We also stopped by the fudge shop while we were there, which is a must for anyone that goes to Nauvoo. While we walked around town we stopped at Latter-Day Harvest and got a free DVD on Gordon B. Hinkley. Pretty sweet in my opinion.

The only bad thing that happened while we were there was Pete caught his leg on fire. It is a kind of funny situation since Pete has caught his leg on fire before in a very similar situation. I guess maybe he doesnt learn from history. :) or maybe it takes two times in order to learn.

This picture doesnt really do his burn justice. It was a lot worse than it looks in this picture. It's finally starting to heal. Another thing that we did while we were there was stop for lunch. It was pretty tasty.

We stopped to look at the temple while we were there as well.

We also went to the Nauvoo Pageant while we were there. It was the first time I had seen the new one. I really liked it.

On the ride home we stopped at a Mexican restaurant and Julia kept speaking Spanish with the waiter who waited on us.

The Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July Pete and I went up to Fort Wayne to spend it with our fmailies. It was a very enjoyable weekend. On Saturday we hung out with my mom and just chilled. On Sunday around 5 pm we set up chairs and tables on the IPFW campus to wait for the fireworks at 10:30. We had a picnic for dinner and played games with Pete's parents until it got too dark to see. And then we watched fireworks! They were really neat.

Father's Day

For Father's Day we went up to Fort Wayne to visit Pete's family. It was pretty fun. On Saturday we went to the Fort Wayne Zoo and afterwards we went to Ribfest and got tasty ribs for lunch. It was a lot of fun.

On Sunday we were able to see our very good friend Julia Poorman who has recently returned from serving a mission in Guatemala. We were very excited to see her and are very happy that she is back.

Here is Julia. Minnie decided that she also wanted to be in the picture

Here are the Hillams, some other really good friends of ours. They were at Julia's welcome home party

Camping with the Family

Last Friday Pete and I took my mom and sister camping at Johnny Appleseed Park in Fort Wayne. We had a lot of fun! While we were there I had the chance to see Jognny Appleseeds grave, it was pretty cool.

Faeries and Butterflies

Last week we visited with Pete's parents up in Fort Wayne. It was a really nice visit. While we were there we went to the Botanical Gardens with his mom. At the Botanical Garden there is always some kind of theme that the decor and flowers are centered around. One time when we went the theme was Wizard of Oz. This time when we went the theme was faeries and butterflies. It was really cool. They had set up little "fairy villages" around the gardens and there was a butterfly display as well. They also had little signs that were written in fairy language that you could decode and if you got them right and solved the secret message than you could enter to win a free 1 year membership. I'm not sure if we'll get the free membership but we solved the message. It said, "To see the faeries in the skies open your heart and close your eyes." or something like that. It was a little bit silly, but overall it was pretty fun.

The Zoo!

Over the last few weeks since school as been out we have had the opportunity to visit the Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Lafayette zoos. It has been really fun and we've really enjoyed it.

Here are some pictures from the Indianapolis Zoo:
